How Women Will Combat the Corona Virus and Save the Tourism World
I want to talk to you today about something more important to our global civilization than the Coronavirus & tourism
Something needed now, more than ever before to save our planet’s health, politics, financial abundance and make the world a better place.
We need more women empowered and leading worldwide in tourism, travel and hospitality.
But not just in tourism, but a growing presence everywhere, all the time.
Let’s face it. Men have screwed it up in so many ways…
And now we have an opportunity to correct this.
As men we need to work on bringing more balance, harmony and grace into business and life; that women more naturally have.
And it starts with you…
Many people in the global tourism, travel and hospitality industry know me as “Tourism Tim”. A 30-year tourism industry stakeholder and advocate for planning, starting, scaling, and exiting profitably in all aspects of your tourism business dream as a consultant, coach, trainer, author and media source.
But here’s something most of you don’t know…
I am a HUGE WOMEN’S RIGHTS ADVOCATE and co-founder and executive producer with my wife and host Sabrina Braham MA MFT PCC of a top 10+ year podcast called WomensLeadershipSuccess.com
This show has over 105 episodes dedicated to helping women (and men) advance their careers and be better leaders in business and life. Sabrina has interviewed countless best-selling authors and business super stars (many in tourism – including me), all focused on empowering more women to lead and succeed.
I am super proud of my wife and the difference we are making.
But there is so much more work that needs to be done to advance women into leadership roles to help make this world a better place.
And to realize this global lifelong cause, it needs the ongoing support of men. When men unite with women we will be stronger together.
10 Things Men Can Do to Advocate for Women’s Leadership in Tourism
- Recognize and admit that men have historically had power in all aspects and women do not have a level playing field.
- Men need to “Sponsor” women (and your daughters) in the workplace, politics and your community to have more opportunity to grow to the next levels. Be an advocate.
- Support women in leadership positions and treat them as the equals that they are in business.
- When women speak, let them speak. Don’t interrupt them and prevent others from doing the same.
- Assume more responsibilities at home. Give women the same opportunities to work remotely and have flexible hours.
- Hire and train more executive women. Put more women on boards.
- Create opportunities for women to participate and contribute to important decisions.
- Support women by insisting on women’s rights and taking paternity leave.
- Encourage women to share their successes and ask for what they want.
- Trust and empower women by stepping aside and allowing them to lead.
Please join me men (and women) in being a huge women rights and leadership advocate.
Not just on Mother’s day or International Women’s Day. But always.
We need women now more than ever to help make better, more holistic decisions and fight global challenges like the Corona virus.
Together we can overcome any global issues that impacts us now and into the future with more women leaders.
